Spring Picnic

It’s time to dust off the picnic set, dig out the thermos,
pop in a bottle of fizz and come along to our old-fashioned
Spring Picnic. We have a delightful setting for setting up picnic
tables adjacent to your PMC and under shady trees.
The day will start with us all meeting at the Studley
Park Boat House Car Park. For those who want a quick cuppa,
the kiosk at the Boat House Café can oblige, or if you wish to get
there earlier for breakfast at the café itself you will be able to
make your own arrangements. The official meeting time is 11.15
am for an 11.45 departure for our picnic venue at Springthorpe
(about a 15 minute drive from Studley Park).
Springthorpe is a beautiful private community in Macleod,
and our picnic venue will be the Springthorpe Common,
which is a well shaded playing field for local residents. Arrangements
have been made for us to park our motor cars, on the Common,
so we can enjoy this wonderful picnic setting to the utmost.
As this is a traditional picnic, please remember to BYO
everything. There is a nearby café where you can obtain coffee, or
lunch if you would prefer not to self-cater. There are also toilet
amenities available at the adjacent Country Club.
This should be a wonderful day to simply relax and enjoy
Melbourne at its best!
The October Newsletter will have more information on
the specific location of our meeting point and picnic venue.

Further details are available from and RSVP to Greg Waymanor jnr-v-president@rrocavictoria.org.au

The Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club has been invited once

Members may recall the last event we attended a couple of
years back at the grounds of Werribee Mansion.
Well it’s back at its home base at Flowerfield and promises
to be bigger and better than ever.
More than 16 Teams, 100 horses and 60 riders compete

Cup’ and ‘Lithgow Cup’.
International players compete with locals for fast paced
action. Expert commentary provides insights into the game and

divots’ on the field. A ritual that has been going on for hundreds
of years and a great way to mix with players and spectators
Children can enjoy pony rides. Santa makes a visit at
noon followed by a ‘sweet pick up’ on the field. There is also a
race for the fillies on the field.

participate in a drive past of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motorcars
as per previous years.

What's it all about?

Question: Who loves a road with a view?
Answer: All RROCA (Vic Branch) Members
The birds are singing, the sun is shining, so here is another
chance to see Victoria at its best on some great driving
roads. This run is another great day out and has something to
entertain most.
Meeting at our clubrooms, Bill Allsep House at 9.15 for
a 9.45 departure, we shall journey on a scenic route.
We plan on arriving at the Hastings Foreshore at 10.30 for a coffee,
and maybe something more indulgent at the Gallery Café
- Lot 17 Mullet St, Hastings (plenty of parking).
A walk on the foreshore may also be in order, for those
wishing to diminish the impact of morning tea
At 11.15, after being refreshed and refuelled, we will depart
for another pleasant drive to the Cape Schanck Lighthouse,
and then back to the Flinders Hotel for lunch.
The journey home shall take us through Red Hill and
across to the beach and up the bay– another interesting route.
So, come along on another fun-filled midweek run – you know
you really want to!
For catering purposes booking is essential.
Please contact Keith Mortimer on 0403 581 479 or
