Editor’s Report - August 2024
As winter is passing and we start to think about Spring, all the growth, the spring blooms, checking in our case the bee hives, cleaning out the house for the new season “Spring Cleaning” it has origins dating back many thousands of years, references occur in biblical times, the Chinese clean before Lunar New Year, Japanese changed from mid-December to December 31. All in all, it is a time to welcome the New Season and in Australia we basically refer to it as Cleaning from Top to Bottom. Now is the time to get your PMC Spring Cleaned! As Noel Baker has commented before getting ready by thoroughly servicing every part of the areas that require maintenance. Now is the time to also rejuvenate the leather with the right products, those beautiful seats need cleaning and nourishment, carpets especially need a good vacuum and cleaning.
Washing the PMC seems tedious but it’s worthwhile, a good rinse, soap and rinse and chamois brings back the lustre. I have found a great way to dry if you don’t want to exert yourself too much, a car blower dryer! It works a treat and I can wash and dry the car streak free in literally half the time of using a Chamois! It’s time to try something new here in the Newsletter, we covered all the recent events in the last Newsletter, hence this one is going to be a little more informative, historical and current. Zagame our Gold Sponsor is the purveyor of our favourite vehicles and we will convey some of the Rolls-Royce and Bentley news through the Newsletter. I have also included the link to Zagame’s current stock, this will also be on the website in the For Sale section.
Please attend the August meeting in person and bring some of your younger family members! I think with a lot of us it could be Grand Children, but bring younger family along to meet others who have a passion for finer automobiles. When I was reviewing photos for the July meeting in Creswick, I noted an abundance of a certain hair colour, wouldn’t it be great to see some variants! Happy Motoring!
