President’s Report - December 2025

It doesn’t seem like that long ago that we were preparing for Christmas 2024 but here we are in 2025 – has it actually been a year?

In my final report for the year, I’d like to acknowledge all of our club sponsors and supporters, in particular our Gold Sponsors Zagame and Shannons, you are all vital to our club and all that we do.

I also wish to remember those we have lost through the year; David Kenway, Darren Overend, Thea Cornish, Bryan Harper, Graham Clark, Geoffrey May, David Jones, Wendy Shenfield, Peter McBeth, Don Grogan, Byron Dobson, Maxine Knott. We miss you and remember you and our thoughts are with your families particularly at this time of the year.

This club is only what it is due to the dedicated work of key volunteers;

  • I acknowledge with great thanks our committee Stephen Peoples, Tony Wood, Terry Harris, John Reis, Wayne Spittle Wayne Fitzgerald and Ralph Plarre.

  • Id like to also acknowledge Neil Matthews our Chief Judge and his team of merry men and women who make our concurs and display day work and also the custodian of the silverware Terry Farrow as well as Robin Hickman for his work in publicity.

  • I also thank our Technical Team led by Simon Roberts as well as those that look after our suppers and BBQ’s Robert Craig and Steve Young as well as Louise Matthews for facilitating our ladies lunches.

  • Please also acknowledge the SHRF team for all the work that they do in maintaining and building our archives.
