Editor’s Report - September 2024

Another year has passed since our last AGM our invitation to attend on September 12 is included in this Edition. You may ask why it is important to attend, this year it is very important as it will be an opportunity to thank Howard Wraight for his tireless efforts as President for the last 3 years! As many of you know Howard is always present having either organised, attending, doing your bookings and sourcing venues. A special thank you on behalf of the members for your efforts. All positions are voluntary on the committee and I extend our thanks to all the Committee and Coopted Members.

We will welcome Keith Mortimer as our new President, Keith as you know is involved with so many external organisations, I have extracted a small Bio from the National Boys Choir Website, where Keith currently serves as Chairman. Keith’s other passions are for classic cars, having served for many years within the Jaguar and RollsRoyce Car Clubs in Victoria. He has also served as the President of the Association of Motoring Clubs, a peak body for motoring enthusiasts in Victoria. Keith continues his involvement in other arenas and is a past President and life member of the Box Hill North Football club where he still (occasionally) enjoys a kick.

Professionally, Keith is an Accountant who has spent the majority of his career in management within industries that deliver a social benefit, namely recycling, health and community services and currently as CEO of a state-wide disability support organisation. In all of his pursuits, he is supported by his family, wife Catherine and two adult children, Shannon and Justin.
